Lorrie Pizzola is a consultant with The Pizzola Group, focused on helping organizations navigate the New York State legislative process, advance budget priorities, and shape policy.
Lorrie began her career in public service as an intern with the New York State Senate and went on to serve in policy and legislative roles for several state senators. She was later appointed as a Program Associate to the Governor in the Office of State Operations, providing program and policy advice on a range of issues, including housing. Following, she was appointed as Deputy Commissioner for Intergovernmental Affairs at the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal, where she served under four gubernatorial administrations.
Lorrie returned to the State Senate in the Office of Majority Counsel and Program, where she was responsible for advising members on budgetary and policy priorities regarding housing issues. She capped her Senate service as Legislative Director for the Senate Housing, Construction and Community Development Committee.
After the honor of serving the people of New York for more than three decades, with nearly twenty-five years focused on state housing policy, Lorrie retired in 2023. At the time of her retirement, she served as a Senior Program Director with New York State Homes and Community Renewal responsible for the administration of several local programs.
Lorrie holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Utica College of Syracuse University and a master’s degree in history/political science from the College of Saint Rose. She is also a graduate of the Council of State Governments (CSG) Henry Toll Fellowship Program.

Drawing upon her experience as a communications professional and fueled by a lifelong passion for helping others build their brands and communicate their message effectively. Most recently, Sierra has found herself in the crisis communications sector - helping school districts prepare to communicate with their stakeholders before, during, and after an emergency. Additionally, Sierra has helped over 30 businesses launch their online platforms and establish their brands online.
Sierra holds a bachelor’s degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
